Conduct Acting for the Stage, Levels Imagination (ages 3-5), Discovery (ages 6-9), Creation (ages 8-11), Acting Styles Exploration (ages 10-15), and the Performance Class (directing the production of Pinocchio). Imagination and Creation focus on exploring what it means to be on stage and learning how to interact with one another. Lessons include characterization, building motor skills, basic terminology, creative thinking, team building and story telling (learning the beginning, middle and end). Creation focuses on improvisation, learning to create characters, settings and scenes on the spot; communicating, listening and responding to scene partners; and developing the ability to think on one's feet as an actor. Acting Styles Exploration focuses on working with a script, developing characters and relationships, vocal and physical work, objective/obstacle/tactic, improvisation, and some basic methods and techniques. The Performance class focuses on the production process from auditioning and call-backs, to creating characters and the storytelling of the play through theatrical exercises and workshops, and culminates in a final production of Pinocchio. All classes meet over 13 weeks and result in a final performance of techniques, games, and scenes prepared in class.

This position was for A Red Orchid Theatre's youth ensemble who were performing the main-stage production of The Iliad. Duties include contacting schools and groups for matinees, creating contracts and letters for schools, parents, and groups, coordinating scheduling of matinees and in-school workshops, facilitating post-show discussions, orchestrating the matinee days, and corresponding with educators, artists, and A Red Orchid staff.

This position was for A Red Orchid Theatre's youth ensemble that performed in When I Was... in Collaboraction's Sketchbook Festival. Duties included helping in the development of the script devised by the youth ensemble and directors, managed contact sheets, rehearsals and performances. Provided supervision for youth ensemble at all times, communicated with parents and production staff about schedules and conflicts, and served as liaison between Collaboraction artists and production team.

Conduct introductory class sessions for Timeline Theatre's Education programming for the production of "Master Harold" . and the boys. Create a student study guide and image packet; present an informational PowerPoint to classes about the play's history, author, time and setting, and cultural context. Field questions about the play, context, and what the students are expecting to see. Lead a post show discussion following the student matinee performances.

For the production of It's a Wonderful Life, my duties included supervising the areas of auditorium, scene shop, electrics, front of house, sound, and props. Scheduled and facilitated weekly production meetings, overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring that all parties are clearly communicating, and preparing production budgets in collaboration with the Director and Technical Director. Arranging purchase orders and/or credit card purchases for production related expenses and monitored expenses, ensuring that all designers and crew chiefs are operating within budget. Creating production schedules and ensuring that deadlines are met, facilitating the hiring/assigning of designers, and arranging for building passes for production staff and cast.

Coordinator for the education/outreach program, American Mosaic, working with a classic play from the season and conduct a six week residency with over 600 Chicago Public School students who create and perform in their own version of the play. Duties included assisting with interviews and hiring of all teaching artists and assistants, creating training materials, assisting in trainings of CPS teachers and teaching artists. Coordinated scheduling of schools, bussing, students, scenes, teaching artists, matinees, calendar of visits, and performances. Other duties included observation of teaching artists in the classroom, documenting assessments for grant purposes, creating a blog for student and artist collaboration, creating surveys, and coordinating the technical rehearsal and performance for final shows. Education Intern responsibilities include creating study guides for all five shows in the 08-09 season, assisting with creation of website for education department, conducting post-show discussions and pre-performance workshops for matinee students, and writing articles and interviews for education and marketing purposes.

Responsibilities included reading new play submissions and composed reader reports as to whether the plays were appropriate for the company and its audiences. Researched historical and contextual information for Arizona Theatre Company's production of To Kill a Mockingbird. Attended rehearsals and provided feedback. Wrote program notes, articles for educational study guides, and actor packets. Created lobby displays. Attended education programming pertinent to the show and engaged in pre-show discussions.

Duties included writing lesson plans, administering and writing tests, teaching a variety of units (Shakespeare, Dramaturgy/Play Analysis, Stage Makeup, Musical Monologues, etc.), grading tests, directing students with auditions, monologues, and scenes, assistant directing Urinetown, conducting Parent/Teacher conferences, attending school meetings, collaborating with the Choral Department, and advising students.

Teacher Candidate for Drama III classes, Play Production, and Drama I. Assisted in teaching students a variety of skills and techniques in the acting and technical disciplines. Taught unit on "Scoring a Script" (breaking a script down to its basics and learning the specific objectives, operative words, beats, builds and drops, verbs, etc.), and lessons in "Inner/Outer Character Approaches." Educated students in painting techniques, oversaw students working in the shop, built and painted sets with students, and directed/worked scenes and monologues for classes. Designed the set for the production of The Dining Room, painted the set for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and helped with donations and ads for the production programs.

Dance Teacher/Assistant for dance students three to fifteen years of age. Taught and assisted in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Tumbling classes. Duties included choreography, training of new steps and dance moves, supervision, technique for tumbling, demonstrated dance techniques, and helped the dancers at the yearly recitals.
