Rob Rutherford, Darren Borrino and friends. We execute audacious strategic and conceptual communication for brands, production houses and agencies. We started out as an independent creative team, first on Nissan Europe back at TBWA with Chris Garbutt. We looked after pitches for a vodka brand and a travel aggregator at SoloUn1ion with Matthew Bull. We also worked for FCB Chicago on Boeing, and for Mother NY on Stella Artois and a Wrangler pitch. I wrote a brand launch for Italian liqueur makers Don Ciccio e Figli. In a 5 month stint at 360i from December 2018 to April 2019, we relaunched DAZN's sports streaming service, including a spot directed by Tom Kuntz and starring Tracy Morgan, and one directed by Jake Szymanski starring boxers Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs. We also looked after FOX Home Entertainment campaigns for Once Upon A Deadpool, The Favourite and Alita, a Range Rover pitch and the Explore Asheville account. From July to December 2019 we stepped in as temporary ECDs at Spark44 New York looking after Land Rover and Jaguar. In 2020 we've worked on a winning Pfizer pitch at Grey NY, on Intel, Walgreens, Lidl and Uber for VMLY&R Kansas and on a gaming project with Fred & Farid NY. Rutherford + Borrino turned into RUNT on 25 May 2020. Our first official client was Biden For President, the VP's presidential campaign.

Worked on McDonald's, Adidas Running and Eastbay campaigns, but for the most part I was dedicated to Nissan, TBWA's biggest account worldwide. In a CD and then GCD partnership with Darren Borrino, we won the Nissan North America tier 1 business back for TBWA after a year of project-by-project pitching, then ran the account. Our platform idea secured the global Hilton Hotels account on pitch, and we later looked after that brand too. We started our time at Chiat by working on Nissan globally through Nissan United, on projects in Europe for Micra and Qashqai. In our time at TBWA we produced a Titan truck spot with Traktor, a Nissan x Star Wars brand commercial with Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic, scored by John Williams, and then an animation special by The Mill LA and Noam Murro for Eastbay. Awards included an in-book at Communication Arts and 1 gold, 4 silvers and 3 bronzes at the London International Awards for a Nissan Canada radio campaign.

Leaving Hunt\Lascaris but staying with TBWA, I moved into my first ECD role at The Open Collaboration. It had been a relatively low-key direct and retail agency within the group. This changed from 2015, when we landed the BMW and Jameson Whiskey tier 1 accounts and went on to win South African Small Agency Of The Year twice in succession. The agency also won its first ever international awards, 6 One Show pencils and 2 Cannes Lions in two years.
